A New Decade Awaits: Will You Make Self-Care Your Priority?

At the end of this year, we say goodbye to another decade. 2020 awaits with more than the promise of just a new year.

The last ten years have been tumultuous for us – the economy, the politics, the revelations of state capture, and always the underlying fear and worry about a future looking more and more bleak in terms of jobs and crime.

Personally, the last ten years have been the biggest health challenge I could ever have imagined. What a roller coaster it has been of fear, worry, despair and then hope, rewards and finally, undeniable progress.

I can't imagine what my life might have looked like without the discovery of BodyTalk and how my wonderful practitioners held the space for me while I discovered and released the impediments to healing.

In reading David Dawkins' Letting Go – The Pathway of Surrender, he reinforces much of what BodyTalk has taught me – not only as a practitioner, but also as a client.

Letting go of emotions and feelings and the whirl of thoughts that are generated by them, has freed me and my clients to move forward on our personal journeys.

We've managed to continuously lighten the load, some of which was shouldered as children. We've identified the blocks and the causes of our pain, our grief and malfunctioning bodies.

We've learned that with BodyTalk, we finally have a tool to rid ourselves of the beliefs, thoughts and memories that sabotage us on a daily basis.

To step into a new decade, positively and enthusiastically, requires us to let go, to surrender the emotions and feelings that keep us trapped in a cycle of lack, whether it be in abundance or self worth.

How much better would it be to continuously leave behind everything that does not bring us joy and personal growth? How brilliant would it be to start 2020 with a clean slate? My wish for the upcoming decade is that each and everyone of you set self-care as a non-negotiable goal. As a BodyTalk practitioner, I am here to make sure you are not alone in your drive to seek out a better, more positive you.
